Trap Shooting

WALT ROSS MEMORIAL TRAP AND SKEET RANGE NEWS

Another month has past and we are progressing at a great pace. We have new shooter’s
that are coming out and really enjoying the camaraderie and shooting. Last month’s news
letter mentioned that in the near future we would be having ATA sanctioned shoots.
Guess what? It has already happened! Steve Bell has put together a “Big 50” Shoot. This
is a portion of His news letter.

Calling all Trap Shooters By Steve Bell
The interest in the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) program has increased
and we now have approval from the Arizona State Trapshooting Association (ASTA)
and ATA to conduct what they call the “BIG 50 Program.” The first tournament starts
Wednesday, February 13, and will run through March 26. Regular trap and skeet will
be open at the same time. The Big 50 program is a program that was introduced for
approved ATA clubs, for shooters to registered targets in a competitive environment.
With this program, we can mix non-registered shooters with registered ATA shooters
to fill a squad. In a normal ATA tournament, this is not permitted. For this program,
ATA has waived their daily fees. So, come on out and shoot some register targets. $6
for 50 targets, singles, handicap, doubles plus a daily ASTA fee, We will be starting at
4:00 PM Trap & Skeet Call Steve Bell for more info @928-758-2355 Or see me at the
club.

So come out and have some fun! The current shooters are having a blast doing this. Our
goal in the near future will be to make this THE BEST RANGE in Northern Arizona with
the help of the Az. Fish and Game Dept that also wants this to be a reality for the
Mohave Sportsman’s Club,7 Mile Range in general. So, there are some big plans in the
works for us.We try to have food provided on Wednesday’s and this seems to be
working out very well for everyone who comes out to shoot. If you would like to bring
something out let John “Mr. BBQ” know and he will coordinate with you.
Come out and “Bust” a Few” with us on Wednesday nights and Sunday Morning’s.
Have Fun! “See you at the Range”
